Reupholstered chair
Before and after on my reupholstered chair. It took about a week to do---but that is only because I did it without a sewing machine. I followed Brooke's tutorial on allthingsthrifty.com.

This thing was so nasty when I first got it. I found it on craigslist for $20. It stunk up my house! It was caked in 3 layers of paint that I had to remove with varnish/paint remover.
This part was a pain in the butt! I had to apply many coats of varnish remover before getting down to the real wood. Once I was there, I stained the wood with a walnut wood stain and coated it with poly-acrylic to give it some protection (and a pretty glazed finish).

I got this piece for FREE-it was a dark wood color but with a lot of fading and one big cup spill stain. My biggest problem when doing projects is that I want to keep all of them! Our apartment is getting squishy!
I've done so many projects since I've been in the Philadelphia area, that I wanted to start posting them-mostly for my own enjoyment :)
